The SwiftGate Fleet — Choosing the Right Vehicle for Your Group

Four vehicle categories, every one air-conditioned, with bottled water and a vetted driver. This page helps you match the right car to your party size, luggage volume and journey type.

Vehicle categories

Four options, every journey covered

Each category is chosen and maintained for Egyptian road conditions — the desert highway to Hurghada is not the same as the Cairo ring road, and the vehicle needs to be right for both.

Category Typical model Passengers Max luggage Child seat WiFi Price tier
Standard sedan Toyota Camry / Hyundai Sonata 1–3 3 × airline suitcase On request Included Economy
Minivan Toyota Hiace / Mercedes Vito 4–7 7 × airline suitcase On request Included Standard
Minibus Toyota Coaster / Hyundai County 8–14 14 × airline suitcase On request Included Group
Luxury sedan Mercedes E-Class / BMW 5-Series 1–3 3 × airline suitcase On request Included Premium

Airline suitcase = 63 cm × 45 cm × 25 cm, approximately 20 kg. Oversized items — golf bags, surfboards, dive gear — must be declared at booking so the correct vehicle is confirmed.

Standard sedan

1 to 3 passengers — the everyday airport run

The standard sedan is the most frequently booked vehicle in the SwiftGate fleet. For solo travellers, couples and small families travelling light, it is the most straightforward option — you are in a clean, air-conditioned saloon within minutes of the arrivals hall, and the door-to-door price is the lowest in the fleet. Models in rotation include the Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata and Kia Stinger, all maintained to a regular service schedule.

The boot fits three standard airline suitcases alongside carry-on bags. If you are a couple with heavy checked luggage — two large suitcases each — it is worth considering the minivan, as boot space becomes tight and affects comfort. When in doubt, list your exact luggage count in the booking notes and we will confirm the right vehicle before charging anything.

All standard sedans carry complimentary 500ml still water bottles per passenger, have rear USB-A and USB-C charging points, and provide the portable WiFi hotspot. The rear seats are configured for conversation if needed, and the driver will not initiate unnecessary talk — most passengers simply want a quiet, direct run to the hotel after a long flight.

Typical routes: Cairo Airport (CAI) to Downtown Cairo or Zamalek, Hurghada Airport (HRG) to El Gouna, Luxor Airport (LXR) to East Bank hotels, Aswan Airport (ASW) to the Corniche. All at a fixed price with flight tracking included.

Standard sedan — what is included

Air conditioning (rear zone control) · Complimentary still water per passenger · Portable WiFi hotspot (up to 8 devices) · USB-A and USB-C charging · Child or infant seat on request · Flight tracking with automatic delay adjustment · Driver meets you in arrivals hall with named sign.

Minivan

4 to 7 passengers — the group workhorse

The minivan is the right vehicle for families with children, small tour groups, and colleagues travelling from a conference or event. Models are the Toyota Hiace (12-seat van configured for 7 passengers with luggage space) and the Mercedes-Benz Vito in a high-roof executive layout. Both are diesel vehicles with independent rear air conditioning, which matters significantly on the Cairo–Hurghada desert highway in July and August when exterior temperatures exceed 40°C.

Luggage capacity is seven standard airline suitcases plus carry-on bags when the vehicle carries four or five people. At six or seven passengers, we recommend declaring bulky items in advance so a roof carrier can be arranged if needed. The Hiace and Vito both have wide sliding rear doors and low sill heights, which makes loading heavy suitcases and pushchairs straightforward compared to a saloon boot.

Child seats are available in the minivan for up to three children simultaneously — forward-facing toddler seats and booster cushions for older children. Confirm the ages and weights of children when booking and we will install the correct seats before pick-up. On longer intercity runs — Cairo to Hurghada (4 hours), Luxor to Hurghada (3 hours 30 minutes via the desert road) — the minivan is significantly more comfortable than a sedan for groups because passengers are not cramped together in a back seat designed for two.

The minivan is also the standard vehicle for group meet-and-greet bookings where multiple passengers are collected from the same flight. If your group is split across two different flights arriving within two hours of each other, we can hold the first collected passengers in the arrivals area while waiting for the second group — this is more cost-effective than booking two sedans. Discuss the logistics with us when you enquire.

See airport transfers for a breakdown of minivan pricing by route. For groups of eight or more on the same booking, a minibus may be more economical — see below.

Minibus

8 to 14 passengers — tour groups and corporate delegations

The Toyota Coaster and Hyundai County minibuses are configured for 14 passenger seats with an overhead luggage rail and a rear luggage compartment. These vehicles are used for tour groups, company offsite delegations, wedding parties and sports teams travelling between Egyptian airports and resort or city destinations. A professional driver in uniform operates the vehicle; a guide or coordinator seat is available at the front for groups using a tour leader.

Minibus transfers are booked as a single vehicle, not per head — the fixed price covers the vehicle and driver for the agreed route, regardless of whether 8 or 14 passengers board. This makes the minibus the most economical option per head for large groups on routes like Cairo Airport to a Nile-view hotel or Hurghada Airport to the El Gouna resorts.

The vehicle carries two portable WiFi hotspots for groups of 10 or more, four water bottles per seat on departure, and a USB charging strip along the central aisle. The interior is coach-style with reclining seats and overhead reading lights. Air conditioning is delivered through a roof-mounted system that maintains temperature effectively on motorway runs even in summer.

For events requiring two or more minibuses simultaneously — conference arrivals, group tours, incentive travel — we can schedule a convoy departure to synchronise hotel delivery. Contact us through the corporate enquiry page or the contact form for multi-vehicle coordination.

Minibus — what is included

14 reclining seats · Roof-mounted AC · 2 × portable WiFi hotspot · USB charging strip along aisle · 4 × water per seat on departure · Uniformed driver · Overhead luggage rail + rear luggage compartment · Group name-board in arrivals.

Luggage declared in advance

Oversized items — surfboards, golf bags, bicycles, large dive equipment cases — need to be declared when booking. We can attach a trailer or arrange an additional luggage vehicle. Never discovered at the kerb.

Premium option

Luxury sedan — for arrivals that matter

The luxury sedan category uses Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series or Audi A6 vehicles — all late-model, dark-coloured, with privacy glass and full leather interiors. This vehicle is the preferred choice for senior executives, VIP guests, journalists, dignitaries and travellers who simply want the quietest, most discreet arrival possible after a long international flight.

In addition to the standard amenities — WiFi, water, charging — the luxury sedan adds: rear-seat independent climate control, a premium water brand (Evian or equivalent), a device-charging tray in the central armrest, a folding tray table on the front seat-back for reading or laptop use on longer runs, and a formally dressed driver in a dark suit. The driver greets you by name and handles luggage loading without instruction.

Business travellers pairing the luxury sedan with our VIP fast-track service receive a complete arrivals experience: met airside at the gate, walked through immigration and baggage, and transferred to the hotel in a clean, quiet, premium vehicle — from wheels-down to hotel lobby in under 45 minutes at Cairo Terminal 3 on an ordinary evening.

The luxury sedan is also available for intercity point-to-point runs — Cairo to Alexandria, Cairo to Hurghada for a day meeting, Luxor to Aswan. See intercity cars for route pricing. For corporate accounts, the luxury sedan can be reserved as the standing vehicle class for executive-level staff, with priority dispatch and guaranteed availability on 4 hours' notice.

Capacity is 1 to 3 passengers with standard airline luggage. For executives travelling with an assistant and both have full sets of luggage, the minivan is typically more comfortable and can be specified in the executive-interior configuration.

Standard across every vehicle

What every SwiftGate transfer includes

01

Flight tracking

Your driver monitors the flight from departure. Early, delayed or diverted — the pick-up adjusts automatically. You do not need to contact anyone. Standard waiting time is included in the fixed price and delayed flights do not attract extra charges.

02

Named sign in arrivals

Your driver carries a printed or digital board with your full name, visible from the customs exit in the arrivals hall. There is no ambiguity at the meeting point. If you cannot locate the driver, the direct driver number is on your booking confirmation.

03

Complimentary water and WiFi

Bottled still water and a portable WiFi hotspot are provided in every vehicle from the moment you board. The hotspot runs on Egyptian mobile data and covers all major motorway routes. No additional cost, no app to download.

04

Child seats on request

Infant seats (0–13 kg), forward-facing child seats (9–18 kg) and booster cushions (15–36 kg) are available at no extra charge. Specify requirements and child ages when booking. Seats are installed before pick-up and fit-checked against the relevant weight class.

05

Fixed, all-in pricing

The price we confirm is the price you pay. No meter, no night tariff, no per-bag add-on, no surcharge for heavy traffic. Review the full pricing page for route-by-route figures across all vehicle categories.

06

Vetted, licensed drivers

All drivers hold Egyptian commercial transport licences and pass a background check before joining the SwiftGate roster. Vehicles are registered under the company licence and carry valid passenger-transport insurance. You can verify the driver name against your booking confirmation before entering the vehicle.

Quick answers

Questions about the fleet

Count your passengers and your pieces of luggage, then match to the table at the top of this page. If you are 3 passengers with four large suitcases, the standard sedan boot will be tight — step up to the minivan. If you are unsure, include the exact passenger count and luggage list in your enquiry and we will recommend the right vehicle with no pressure to upgrade.

All SwiftGate vehicles are strictly non-smoking at all times, including by drivers between transfers. This is a company-wide policy, not a per-booking option. If you have a sensitivity to lingering odours, mention it in the booking notes and we will assign a recently valeted vehicle.

We maintain a small standby pool of replacement vehicles at Cairo and Hurghada. In the event of a mechanical issue, a replacement is dispatched immediately and the original booking price is honoured — there is no charge for the delay or the substitute vehicle. On routes to more remote destinations like Marsa Alam or Aswan, we carry a 24-hour contact number with roadside partner assistance.

On the main motorways — Cairo ring road, Alexandria desert highway, the Hurghada coastal road — 4G coverage is consistent and adequate for WhatsApp, Zoom or Teams calls on a moving vehicle. Speeds are typically 10 to 30 Mbps download. There are short dead zones in the middle of the Cairo–Hurghada desert stretch (roughly between Galala and the Ain Sokhna turnoff) where 4G drops to 3G or momentarily to no signal.

Yes. Full-day and multi-day vehicle hire with a driver is available for all categories — useful for touring Luxor West Bank over two days, day trips from Cairo to Alexandria, or a Red Sea resort itinerary. Full-day rates are different from airport-transfer prices. Use the contact form and include your preferred dates and destinations for a specific quote.
