Private Airport Transfers Across Egypt

Fixed-price cars and minivans from Cairo, Hurghada, Luxor, Sharm el-Sheikh and Aswan — booked in advance, price confirmed before you fly, driver on-site when you land.

What you get

A private car that knows your flight

Every SwiftGate transfer covers the full journey from kerb to door, not just the highway stretch in between. Here is what is included in every booking regardless of route or vehicle class.

Flight tracking is built into every transfer. Your driver monitors the live arrival status of your flight through the day, and the pick-up time adjusts automatically to the actual landing. If the plane is thirty minutes late, so is the driver — without you needing to send a message or call anyone. That also means you are not paying for the driver's waiting time when the airline causes a delay.

The price agreed when you book is the price on the receipt. There is no meter running in the car, no per-bag surcharge added at the end, no night rate that appears for 11pm arrivals. All-in means all-in: the car, the driver, the fuel, the airport parking and the standard waiting window are costed into the quote. The only extra that ever applies is if you add a second pick-up address or ask us to stop at a cash machine on the way — and that is agreed in advance too.

Vehicles are air-conditioned and less than six years old. The sedan (Toyota Camry or equivalent) seats up to three passengers with standard luggage. The premium SUV (Toyota Land Cruiser or similar) is the preferred choice for families with children's bags and larger items. The minivan (Toyota Hiace, nine seats) fits groups of up to seven with full luggage. Child seats are provided on request at no additional charge, provided you mention the child's age when booking.

Airport by airport

Notes on each gateway

Egypt's airports are very different in scale, layout and congestion. Here is what to expect at the ones we cover most frequently.

Busiest gateway

Cairo International (CAI)

Cairo runs two passenger terminals — T1 handles domestic and some regional flights, T2 is the main international hub. The gap between them is a short shuttle ride or around fifteen minutes on foot. The arrivals hall at T2 can be extremely congested during peak hours, particularly for flights landing in the window 22:00–02:00 when several European and Gulf services arrive simultaneously. Visa-on-arrival queues here regularly exceed forty-five minutes without fast-track assistance. Our drivers wait in the designated meeting zone on the ground floor of arrivals with a name sign and your booking reference.

Red Sea hub

Hurghada International (HRG)

Hurghada is a high-volume charter and package-holiday airport. Summer charter operations arrive in tight rotations and the parking and meet-point area outside the single terminal becomes congested quickly. Drop-off and pick-up for private transfers is in the designated bay to the left as you exit arrivals. Most resort transfers run between fifteen and fifty minutes depending on destination — El Gouna is at the northern end of the drive, Sahl Hasheesh and Makadi Bay at the southern end. We recommend adding meet-and-greet here if your group includes elderly travellers or young children, as the kerb area can be chaotic during peak rotation hours.

Upper Egypt

Luxor International (LXR)

Luxor airport is a compact, low-volume terminal that processes arrivals efficiently even without VIP assistance. The drive to East Bank hotels — the Winter Palace, Steigenberger, Mercure — is ten to twenty minutes, making it one of the shortest airport-to-hotel drives in Egypt. The West Bank, home to the Valley of the Kings and the Luxor West Bank guesthouses, requires crossing the Nile via the road bridge south of the city, adding fifteen minutes. Drivers wait directly outside the arrivals exit in the small forecourt. For cruise-ship passengers flying in and out during a Nile cruise, Luxor is often both the start and end point of the air segment.

Sinai resort

Sharm el-Sheikh (SSH)

Sharm's airport is purpose-built for resort traffic. The terminal is modern and moves passengers through immigration faster than Cairo, though peak-season summer rotations can still produce thirty-minute waits. The Naama Bay strip is a short ride north of the airport; Sharks Bay and Hadaba resorts are a few minutes further. Most resort hotels have their own transfer services but these are shared shuttle buses — a private transfer gets you there directly without waiting for other passengers to load. For divers arriving with equipment cases, the minivan is the practical choice given luggage volume.

Frequently asked

Transfer questions answered

We accept bookings up to twelve months ahead and as little as four hours before departure for sedan and SUV transfers. Minivans and large groups need at least twenty-four hours. For peak periods — Eid holidays, Christmas, New Year — booking a week or more ahead is strongly recommended as availability at Cairo airport tightens significantly.

Yes, and we encourage it. Return bookings are handled with the same fixed-price, flight-tracked approach. The driver for the departure leg arrives based on your check-in time recommendation for the airline, route and terminal — we include that guidance in the booking confirmation. Return bookings made together with the arrival leg receive a 10% discount on the total.

All of our transfers work in both directions. A hotel-to-airport pickup works identically — you provide the hotel name, your check-in time at the airline, and the flight number, and we arrange the car to arrive based on the recommended departure time for your terminal and airline queue expectations. The price for hotel-to-airport is the same as airport-to-hotel for the same route.

Transfers are priced and confirmed in USD. Payment can be made in USD cash on the day, or by bank transfer or card online in advance. If paying in EGP locally, the rate applied is the interbank mid-rate at the time of booking confirmation, locked in writing — there is no adjustment on the day. See full payment terms on the pricing page.

The transfer driver and the fast-track representative are separate roles. The driver handles the vehicle and waits with your name in arrivals. The fast-track representative meets you airside, before immigration, and walks you through the expedited channels. You can add fast-track to any transfer booking — it is available at Cairo Airport (both terminals) and, subject to availability, at Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Details on the fast-track page.

If the airline cancels or indefinitely delays your inbound flight, your transfer booking can be rescheduled at no cost to the next confirmed arrival, or cancelled for a full refund of any pre-payment. We ask for notification as soon as you know — if the cancellation comes from the airline's system, we usually see it in the flight tracker before you call. The same policy applies to departure transfers if your flight is cancelled before you reach the airport.

Related services worth adding

A transfer is the foundation of your ground logistics, but many travellers add one or two services around it. The VIP fast-track at Cairo is the single most effective add-on for international arrivals — it can save you forty to sixty minutes in the immigration and baggage process. The meet-and-greet service is a lighter alternative if you don't need the immigration escort but want a named person to find you and help with bags before handing you to the car.

If you're travelling between cities during your trip — Cairo to Sharm, Hurghada to Luxor, or along the Nile corridor — the intercity car service extends the same fixed-price, vetted-driver approach to road journeys between destinations, often with more flexibility than the train or a domestic flight connection. For companies and travel managers moving staff regularly, a corporate account removes the per-trip administration and consolidates billing.
